The local authority of Lenk

The village of Lenk is situated at an altitude of 1,068 metres above sea level, at the very top of the Simmental valley and at the foot of Mt. Wildstrubel. Here you will find the well-known Adelboden-Lenk ski region and the associated Betelberg ski area, where families feel particularly welcome. If you're looking for peace and quiet, you will find it on long walks or by doing some cross-country skiing. In summer, Lenk offers delightful pass hikes, uplifting high-ridge walks, flowering Alpine meadows, rushing waterfalls and crystal-clear mountain lakes. A paradise for families and nature lovers!

The name "Lenk" was derived etymologically from the transformation of "An der langen Egg" (On the long corner), "lange Ecke" (Long corner), "Die Langeck" (The long corner), which was shortened to "Die Läng'k", or "la Lenk" in French. Hence "an der Lenk"!
