9 Gsteig - Arnensee

High summits and idyllic lakes

The beautifully designed trail leads us along the Reusch stream. We really immerse ourselves in the forest. On Alp Reusch, we reach a plateau at an altitude of 1,343 m. a.s.l. There is usually a lot of hustle and bustle here. After Reusch, we cross the cantonal and linguistic border and take a side trip to the canton of Vaud. The aerial ropeway of the Glacier 3000 can be seen in the distance. After the Col du Pillon, we cross Alpine meadows on the way to Lake Retaud. Place orders in French in the cosy restaurant. The summits of the Diablerets Massif reflect in the water of the small lake. We continue from the idyllic mountain lake to its big brother, Lake Arnen. When you reach the stage finish and look back, you feel like you could be in a wild Canadian landscape.
